Our company is a major power plant operator in Hungary , with strong traditions.
During its remarkable history dating back to a century, Budapesti Erőmű and its staff followed the technological progress, and developed together with the serious economic and social transformation of the recent years. We operate three combined cycle power plants (in Újpest, Kispest and Kelenföld) and a heating plant, which cover about 60% of Budapest’s district heating heat demand. So, there is no doubt that our company plays a particularly important role in the life of the capital city and its inhabitants. 

Our power plants also generate  electricity, and our share in the Hungarian electricity market is 2%. 
Following the considerable investments in modern technologies and the introduction of progressive management and operation methods, our Company has reached high quality standards with regard to reliability and environmental protection. 
Our cogeneration technologies allow a considerable decrease in fuel consumption and in the emission of greenhouses gases.

Our main challenge is to ensure that our Company can generate energy for Budapest and Hungary under the best technical and economic conditions, while maintaining the reliability of our services and protecting the environment.
